14th November 2019.
Following a recent meeting with the Party Leader H.E Dr Kalonzo Musyoka, I can confirm that we (Wiper-Diaspora) have been recognised for our efforts to support Wiper Party through our input more so in the creation of the party website. This project was proposed in our last meeting in Birmingham in May this year.
The party leader also acknowledged our input through the financial support of an intern who is currently engaged with PR & Digital Communication activities. The Wiper CEO (Dr Jared Sisso) also showed us a proposed office for Wiper-Diaspora, which needs to be put a label and furniture to be fully operational.
The most remarkable accomplishment of all during the visit was the official appointment of the Wiper – Diaspora Youth Representative -Mr. Abraham Ndambuki who is currently based in Cyprus. The 23 years old is an employee of KPMG. He had approached the Party Leader H.E Hon Dr Kalonzo Musyoka with a proposal to have a youth arm of the Wiper Diaspora. After meeting with him and the CEO Dr Sisso, he was directed to me, and we eventually met and drafted a write up to formalise the project.
I can report to you that we now have Wiper- Diaspora Youth Wing whose terms of reference will be posted here soon after making a few changes as recommended. We also presented the proposal to the Party Leader after which he gave it a nod.
The same editorial will be updated on the website with Abraham’s picture and title.
One issue of concern was discussed with both CEO and Party Leader, was about the number of registrations for membership which is as little as K.sh50.00. They both stated that membership shows commitment to the Diaspora group.
It was agreed that officials should consider paying for life membership which is about £350.00. The Wiper Diaspora Secretary-General informed the Leaders that Wiper Diaspora group is taking the recruitment and membership very seriously and that we now have a designated officer leading the campaign called Ruto.
He also talked of a plan to organise a major recruitment/fundraising event early next year, which we also plan to invite the party leader and other officials to address the participants. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we need to stand up and be counted. We are in the right direction, and we need just to put extra effort to realise our goals as Wiper Diaspora.
Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya is the largest party in Ukambani and 3rd largest party in Kenya. We must all do our part to make it stronger and competitive.
